Promoted by the Covilhã City Council and the National Mountaineering Club, the Carnaval da Neve (Snow Carnival) is a long-standing cultural and tourism event in the region, dating back to the 1950s.
Its main goal is to bring festive spirit to the city and engage both locals and visitors, especially the school community and local associations.
The festivities take place between Covilhã and Penhas da Saúde, in the Serra da Estrela mountains.
In 2025, the event was held from 28 February to 4 March.
